The couple met when Daniel was undergoing soccer training. They eventually settled in southwest Texas, choosing a location that allowed them to be close to their family members on both sides of the border. 

 

Being born in the United States, Ricardo had the option to represent either the United States or Mexico in international soccer due to his parents’ heritage.

He had previously attended training camps for both the United States under-17 and Mexico under-17 teams.

On April 22, 2019, he was selected by Raphael Wicky to be part of the United States under-17 squad for the CONCACAF U-17 Championship.

During the tournament, he scored his first international goal against Panama and later scored a brace against Canada, helping the United States advance to the final.

In October 2019, Ricardo was once again included in the under-17 squad, this time for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

His soccer journey began at the age of four when he started playing recreational soccer in the local El Paso leagues.

Eventually, the club formed an affiliation with Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas. The soccer player caught the attention of the FC Dallas Scouts after his performance in the Copa Chivas tournament in 2016 when he was just 13 years old.

This led to an offer to join the FC Dallas youth academy. In his first season with FC Dallas, Pepi played for the under-13 side and showcased his scoring ability by netting 18 goals in just 15 games.
