Douglas Jackson Obituary, Death – On Friday, December 8, 2023, (Ret.) Douglas Jackson, Pennsylvania State Police, 81, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Tuesday, July 14, 1942, marked his birth to the late Eugene and Rosalie (Bowman) Jackson. His wife of fifty-five years, Rosanne (Dziki) Jackson, preceded him in death.
Doug graduated from William Penn High School in Harrisburg in 1960. He served with honor for twenty-five years as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Doug was a member of the Country Cruisers of Lebanon County and the Hershey Region Antique Automobile Club of America during his retirement. He also enjoyed attending classic car events.
Additionally, Doug was a Brownstone Masonic Lodge member in Hershey. His time with family and friends was his greatest pleasure, and he cherished his three grandsons. Doug is survived by his grandchildren Cooper Jackson, Jackson Grumbein, and Luke Grumbein, as well as his offspring Douglas Jackson II and Salena Herbinko, Stephanie Jackson-Grumbein, and Michael Grumbein. Alongside his parents and spouse,
he also lost two sisters by the name of Dixie Peters and Dawn McDonald. Father Anthony Dill will preside over a memorial service on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St. Palmyra, PA 17078. A period of visitation will be observed from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, when the service will commence. In Palmyra, interment will ensue at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
